| "Twilight Sentinel" 11x14" acrylic on canvas (C) Cara Bevan 2008 |
| Some paintings I just do because it would be interesting and I have a hard time finding meanings behind them. “Twilight Sentinel” is one of those. I liked the photo of an old barn I had (it’s a dilapidated barn at the John C. Campbell Folk School), and it needed something more so I added a cat in the window. I just happened to use my late cat Babycakes as the subject; she was always so regal and beautiful, even on her last days. She died in 2003, but her unique personality never left my mind. I would like to ask you what you see. Is there a hidden message that pops out at you? Does it mean something to you or is it symbolic? I always tell you what the painting is about, but this time I want the painting to speak for itself. (This is my first attempt at hiding images within a painting. It's certainly not my last!) |
