The infinite Mother Dragon, who watched the cosmos and all its wonders, sent her eggs across the visible universe so her offspring could find something to guard all their own. The countless eggs fell like stars, landing unseen across the worlds. Buried, sunken, merged with materials - for decades, even centuries. Until at last, they hatched.

This is a handmade, one-of-a-kind gourd sculpture. It's made from an heirloom miniature spinner gourd, wire, and epoxy clay. Each scale was sculpted and applied one at a time. The wings are fabric sewn onto wire so they're not fragile. Eyes are hand painted glass. It's painted with acrylics and sealed with a satin acrylic sealer. ***not for outside display***

Dragon Guardian #14 was discovered in an unexpected place - hopping across the the front yard. It could barely jump higher than the blades of grass. Its egg had rolled into a estuary where the tadpoles grew into frogs. When the dragon hatched, it though it was a frog at first. After it was helped from being stuck in the grass, it was taught by the other hatchlings that it was indeed a dragon. You might still hear it ribbit though.

This little guy measures 3" tall, 3.5" wide, and 3.5" long.
