“It’s ready!” She said excitedly as the animals gathered together in anticipation. She remembered when the world changed and how difficult life had become. How long had it been? Decades, generations, at least! With trepidation they all had gathered and finally realized things were okay. They were all okay. Their world had changed yet it was still their world. She revealed the map of their beloved home. From then on it became her pride and joy to carry the world on her back.

"New World" is a handmade, one of kind sculpture. It's made of several gourds - a canteen, dipper, and egg gourd - with paperclay and epoxy clay sculpting, custom glass eyes, and hand painted with acrylics. She has a lapis lazuli cabochon embedded in her forehead. She's sealed with a water-resistant sealer but DO NOT expose to the elements. Not for outside display. She can be hung on a wall or table displayed.

The dreamer series consists of different gourd sculpted animals with recesses or areas where I paint their dreams - be it imagined, aspirations, trials, or real dreams come true. This turtle proudly carries the weight of a new world on her back.

This sculpture measures 3" tall, 6.5" wide, and 8" long.
