From the deep sea a large object was found. It was called the "Ocean Goliath."

*************************************

This is a handmade, one-of-a-kind art sculpture. Made of 29 gourds (one for the main body, 28 for the spikes), it was hand carved, sculpted and painted to resemble a spiny conch shell. It measures 18" tall and 12" wide.  The interior is colored with dyed epoxy resin and the exterior with acrylics. Sealed with matte polyurethane.

Inside is a LED light which can be changed from underneath. It's permanently affixed to an antique iron and enamel painted floor lamp stand. The stand was found in an antique store with the date 1926 stamped on the bottom. The conch can be moved with a ball joint at the top of the stand. It does not have an off switch - must unplug or to turn off. An on/off switch is near the top. Cord from plug-in to base measures 2 ft. Stand height is 57".

"Ocean Goliath" was made for the Cameron Art Museum's annual show, "The Art of Illumination." It was on display at the museum from December 2017 to January 2018.

***This is a handmade sculpture. It is NOT a toy. Some parts of this sculpture are delicate. It is NOT recommended for outside display, children, or animals. Thank you***

PLEASE INQUIRE FOR SHIPPING. The shell and lamp base cannot be separated and shipping a 5 ft lamp stand will need to be evaluated for cost. I also accept pickup in Trinity, NC, or will deliver if you're within a reasonable distance from me. Thank you!
